As the weather was nice I got the lads together for a day pleasure fishing around cork harbour. As we were drifting between rock and sand we were landing a lot of different species of fish. I am still amazed of the amount of different species you can catch if you are willing to hunt for small fish. All you need is some mackerel feathers baited with mackerel with an 8oz to 10oz leads. When I use mackerel feathers I would cut the trace in two, I will only using 3 hooks because it is far easier to work with. Today we had mackerel, tubs, reds, and grey gurnards, cod, conger, ling, whiting, dog fish, scad, coalfish, pouting and cuckoo wrasse, it was a change for me from hunting big fish and it was more relaxing. If you are into a day’s fun fishing with a light quiver tip rod, cork harbour is the place to go. hope to see you out there.
